What this record tells us

Site code: TPL03A Evidence of Saxon & medieval activity (possibly of an agricultural nature) encountered. Information from Archaeological Fieldwork Record Form (24. 02. 04.). Developer: Advantage West Midlands, Tenbury Wells Woolhope Club summary, Archaeology, 2003, pp. 109: Ten evaluation trenches and monitoring during road construction exposed a possibly medieval ditch and a pit radiocarbon dated to AD 430-660. Two shallow channels or furrows may relate to medieval cultivation, and the observed alluvium helped define earlier floodplain limits.
