Additional research and clarification, 26 September 2026 Evaluation behind Kingdom Hall identified the Friends’ burial ground and recovered limited disturbed human remains. Most graves were preserved in place. The site is unusually valuable because documentary burial records survive alongside the archaeological evidence, offering the possibility of comparison without assuming that particular skeletons have already been named.
The assessment recorded age and sex estimates and some pathological observations in the disturbed material. These should not be extended to the entire burial population. The project point identifies the investigation area, not an individual grave. Medieval pottery in later deposits also shows why the date of an object and the date of the deposit containing it must be distinguished.
