A lapidarium is a collection of worked stone, often preserving pieces removed from earlier buildings. These objects deserve attention alongside freshly excavated finds.
The collection location must not be treated as the place where all 35 stones were found. Provenance research is needed to link individual pieces with the Priory or other structures. The current map’s coarse SO 50 59 reference lies east of Grange Court; SO 499 591 is a more suitable collection locator, still without implying an archaeological context.
