What this record tells us
Medieval pottery was recovered in 1980 from a back garden belonging to a house fronting Corn Square. Buteux records the find under HWCM 19585.
The sherds are documented, but the house number, finder and surviving collection are unresolved. They support medieval activity in the vicinity without identifying a building or proving that every garden deposit is medieval.
