What this record tells us
Medieval pottery and animal bone were recorded at 8 Bridge Street, HWCM 3598. Watching briefs in the late 1970s and early 1980s identified medieval deposits about one metre below the then ground surface.
These observations give the object finds a useful archaeological setting. The bone was not closely identified in the assessment. The broad map locator must not be read as a surveyed trench position.
