Timber work and chronology: 17th century interior timber work does not specify a wall-framing system. RCHME1934 house/shop description and later NHLE houses/inn must retain their respective chronology. Column order and blockwork composition are not stated.

a (43) House and shop, No. 4, immediately N. of (42), is of three storeys. The exterior has been refaced, and the only old work visible are the gable ends of the roof.

Entrance to centre right: C18 six-panel door; blocked entrance to centre left; two C20 cross-windows with casements; moulded fascia-board and modillioned cornice overall, on 5 fluted columns.
