LEOMINSTER SO4959 BROAD STREET 808-1/1/75 (West side) 16/06/89 Former Assembly Room at rear of No.45 GV II Assembly room of former inn, now vacant. c1800. Brick; Welsh slate roof, hipped to right; brick stack to rear. 3 storeys; 3-window range: canted oriels with underhangs, and 6/6 sashes under moulded cornices, and to left, transom window under segmental arch; transom window over. 3 (temporarily blocked) mullion lights, to ground floor. INTERIOR: plain room to ground floor, probably supper room. Assembly room has gallery with wrought-iron railings with mahogany handrail. Small hob grate in plain surround; 6-panel doors; panelled shutters; plaster cornice and ceiling rose. A plain but little-altered assembly room once belonging to the Britannia Inn (now No.45 Broad Street (qv)). Listing NGR: SO4955259323
