What this record tells us
In 1983, undated pottery and wood were observed about 2.5 metres below the surface north of Pinsley Brook, west of the area observed in 1979. Buteux records this under HWCM 5291.
The material may belong to post-medieval infilling, but its dating is unresolved. It should remain separate from the 1979 Priory wall and the later Pinsley Mill investigations. The precise observation point is not recovered in the present evidence.
