The report synthesised railway discoveries, antiquarian work, aerial evidence and 1980 salvage recording at Blackwardine. It describes a prosperous Roman settlement with pits, post-holes, a well, buildings and possible defensive ditches, occupied from the later first to the fourth century or beyond.
